Madison Burton, Professional Coach
I started skating as soon as I could walk over 20 years ago. Since then, I have completed all four of my Gold tests by the time I was 18. In the past, I competed in Triathlon, and have made it to Provincials. Now, I skate as an Adult Skater with a commitment to be active for life. As a coach, I share my passion with my skaters in hopes they will fall in love with the sport as I have. My goal as a coach is to create solid beginnings and basics for my skaters so they may grow in the sport and keep skating right on through their teenage years into adulthood. I also have an interest in developing off-ice programing inclduding conditioning and flexibility training, and dance fitness. My qualifications include my quadruple Gold Skate Canada tests, 7 years of formal coaching expereince in 6 different clubs, with over 10 years as a Program Assistant before that, Emergency First Aid and CPR, and a Bachelor of Arts 4 year university degree in Psychology (developmental & learning) and Philosophy (ethics). I am a Regionally Certified coach and have completed all six of the Provincial level coaching courses.
